In Loving Memory

William H Buchert

September 27, 1951 – October 31, 2022

William “Bill” Buchert, 71, passed away on October 31, 2022, in Barrington, Illinois surrounded by loved ones.  He was born on September 27, 1951, in Woodstock, Illinois and grew up in McHenry Illinois.

He is survived by his former wife, Roxanne, with whom he spent 22 years; their children, Jessica (Lawrence) Pelkey, Matthew (Jenelle) Buchert and Jason (Jackie) Buchert; their six grandchildren: Lawrence, Matheson, Addison, Brandon, Joleigh and Joslyn; his sisters, Marsha Booker, Joyce Thomas, Melody Webb and Bonnie Ducak; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Marshall, his mother Jean, his brother Joey and his grandson, Henry.

Bill had many hobbies and interests – many of which revolved around his love of cars (racing, fixing and collecting).  He loved to cook (both indoors and outdoors), fish and was also a talented artist.  He found joy in decorating for the holidays and sharing his baked cookies with everyone. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was a friend to all – greeting everyone with a smile or a wave.  Above everything, he loved spending time with family and especially loved bringing gifts and treats to his grandchildren.  He was a kid at heart and could almost always be found joking, laughing and sharing stories – most times with a coke in his hand.  He inspired us all with his strength, perseverance and positive outlook.  He will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 4-7pm at the Johnsburg Community Club, 2315 W Church St, Johnsburg, IL 60051.  A short service will be held at 6pm, where friends are invited to share their memories of Bill.
