Thomas George Robbins, age 63, a longtime resident of Lake Zurich, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 26, 2022. Tom was the last baby born in New Haven Connecticut on Dec. 31, 1958. Tom was raised in Wayne, NJ and Barrington, IL.

Tom is preceded in death by his father and mother George and Nancy Robbins (nee Mischler), his brother George Michael Robbins, mother-in-law Patricia Ploussard (nee Sontag) and brother-in-law Tom Ploussard.

Beloved husband of 38 years to Michele Robbins (nee Ploussard); loving father to Bryan and Eric, loving brother of Pam Meeker (Mike), Debbie Westhouse (Bob), Jan Augustine and Billy Robbins (Sally). Loving son-in-law to Bob Ploussard (partner Mary Lou Loughlin), and brother-in-law to Rob Ploussard, Jeff Ploussard (Susan). Tom also had many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Tom will be deeply missed by many.

Tom was a friend to all that he met, and he always treated people like family. Tom would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, and he was a respectful confidant to many. Tom consistently put others before himself. A lifelong learner and teacher, Tom passed-on many great values, skills, and strength to everyone around him. A talented handy-man, Tom helped many people with their at-home projects and encouraged learning throughout. Tom also loved to boat and spend time on the water with friends and family. He was always affectionately and hilariously referred to as Captain Tom and T-Bone.

Even in the face of his mortality, Tom kept his sense of humor and would often find ways to make people laugh when they needed it most. All who know Tom know he was always good for a laugh and a fun time.

To honor Tom and to help others battling cancer, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 5pm-9pm at Lindy’s Landing, 115 Park Street, Wauconda, IL.
