T. Brian Alexander died peacefully in his sleep on January 25th, 2024, at home in Third Lake IL, under the loving care of his daughter, Lesa. He will be dearly missed.

Brian will be remembered for his curiosity and lifelong love of learning, his wit and tender heart, and for his determination. Brian loved conversation and gatherings. He also enjoyed down time while watching news and sci-fi shows.

Brian was born in 1945 into Fred and Esther Alexander’s large family in Lockport, New York. As a Social Worker, Brian held positions from helping troubled youth to aiding low-income clients in Broome Co, NY. He received a Masters in Public Policy at SUNY Binghamton. In the late 70’s, by then the father of 3 children, he moved to Albany, NY to become a faculty member at the SUNYAlbany School of Social Work.

In midlife Brian became a computer professional, including working at Peapod,Inc., after relocating to Chicago. In this phase of life he delighted in becoming a hands-on Grandpa. He began to travel regularly. He treasured his trips to France and Italy.

Brian returned to Albany, NY in his retirement years but continued to work part-time. He contracted at Siena College Research Institute, worked as a test proctor, and as an election judge, something he considered very important. Leisure time was spent enjoying lunch, taking walks and attending talks and events in the Capital District.
