Shirley Irene Barker, 83, of Lindenhurst, Illinois, passed away August 1, 2022. She was preceded  in death by her daughter, Cynthia Jean Barker  Brocklebank, and her great-grandson, Edward Bernard Brocklebank. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bernard Howard Barker, her three daughters, Theresa Barker Wolfe (John), Donna Barker Nicpon (John), and Anna Barker Ward (Robert), ten grandchildren ( Tracie, Timothy, Laura, John, Jacob, Anthony, Catherine, Megan, Kaitlin, and Kasey) and sixteen great-grandchildren (David, Arrissa, Lilyana, Marco, Angel, Brayden, Natalie, Laila, Chaye, Alexandra “Stella,” Samuel, Penelope, Caroline, Judah, Rosalyn, and Harper).
Shirley deeply impacted many lives. She selflessly gave of herself, especially to her husband Bernard as she cared for him with his dementia. She always welcomed friends and family into her house, and was a strong Christian. Her sheer determination to share family milestones enabled Shirley to live an extended, full, and rich life. Often, the biggest kid of all, Shirley’s love of life was infectious, and she never turned down an opportunity to make memories with her children, grandchildren, and her great -grandchildren. Her endless love will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
