On March 15, 2023 Lois Ann Young passed away in her home. She spent over 35 years with her husband and best friend Joseph Young. Joe and Lois created a family together starting in their home in Mundelein and later moved to their current Grayslake home. Together they have 5 children; Sarah, Dawn, Joe, Andrea and Aly. Their daughters grew their family with the addition of wonderful young men that became their son-in-laws; Brandon Faulkner, Steve Sliozis, Drew Nelson, Juvy Cordova and Travis Hamm. Lois was blessed with many precious grandchildren; Vae (Kira), Liam, Wyatt, Jayden, Talon, Enzo, Ace and Aylssa. Lois was close with her siblings and will be missed by them; Pam Banwart, Bill Campion, Patty Herchenbach, Judy Hehr and Chris Campion. Additionally Lois is survived by her step-mom Anita Campion and mother-in-law Andi Young. She leaves behind numerous loved nieces, nephews, additional family members as well as her many treasured life long friends. She was preceded in death by her parents William and June Campion.

Lois was the center of her family. She was dedicated to supporting her loved ones. She listened to anyone that needed someone to talk to and never judged. One of her biggest joys was to host events at her home. Any meal she held at her home always promised more than enough food for the all guests. Of course, she would be the last to sit down to enjoy the meal since she made sure everyone’s plates were full first. She especially went all out for her family on Christmas.

The employees of their family owned businesses, The Ultimate Paint Shops in Lake Bluff and Highland Park, were just as much Lois’s family throughout the years she worked there. Lois’s collection of pigs fills her home with memories. She loved to travel to where it was warm, whether that was Florida or Mexico. In her younger years, Lois would travel to her Grandmother’s home in New Jersey to spend time with her extended family. On a sunny summer day you would likely find her near her backyard pool enjoying the sun with a good book and her best buddy Chance. Lois’s smile, bright blue eyes and good intentions will remain in the hearts of those that loved her.

While thoughts and prayers are with her husband, children, grandchildren, loved ones and all that are grieving her loss. Her family and plans to have a celebration of her life on March 23rd, her 67th birthday. This celebration will be held at the Parkway Banquets Salon 657 Railroad Ave Round Lake, IL from 3 to 7 pm. Pastor Cheri Tuccy will be speaking at approximately 6pm. An invitation is extended to all that knew and loved Lois.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice Foundation of America at https://hospicefoundation.org/Donate or to you favorite pet rescue, like Rocky Rescue rockysrescuechicago@yahoo.com (this is where she got her best friend Chance from), or to your favorite charity of choice.
