Jane Susan Parrish 75 years old of Antioch Illinois passed away on the morning of Monday August 24th 2020 after her lengthy battle against cancer. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 31 years JW (Jim) Parrish, sons, daughter, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and abundance of friends.

In consideration of current gathering restrictions, private services were held on Thursday, July 27, 2020.

Jane was born June 13th 1945 in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Chester and Margaret (Gaik) Patts (Paczkowski). On July 16, 1989 she married the “love of her life”, Jim Parrish at a church in Antioch Illinois.

Raised on N. Western Avenue in Chicago, Janie would take the bus to Notre Dame High School for Girls where she graduated from and worked as a Clinical Pathology Assistant for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office in Chicago.

Family trips would take them to their dearly loved and quaint little cottage located down the road from Lake Marie in Antioch, where Janie enjoyed Ice skating, fishing, in the winter months and swimming, fishing, boating, in the summer months, often she would tell stories of her ability to swim from “The Ship” to “Mr. Wonderful’s” on Channel Lake and how she would hide in the closet as a little girl when it came time to drive back to the “City”, her parents would call out, “Janie Sue where are you?”.

Finally moving to Antioch in the early 1960’s and establishing her “dream come true” roots where she married and raised her sons and daughter and passed on her love of a small town and all the area had to offer.

Janie enjoyed spending time at home gardening, golfing, boating and having family gatherings. It was her family orientated personality that would ensure on holidays we would gather at the table eating, drinking and laughing to make loving memories.

Her self-less personality and tenacity for life is what helped her fight the obstacles of metastatic renal cell carcinoma which she ended up succumbing to that took her life.
