Donna L. Spencer (Truitt) passed away on September 28, 2020 at the age of 82. She was married to Robert L. Spencer(deceased) for 31 years. Together they raised four children. Geoff (Caroline), Gordon Spencer, Lynn (Matt) Grennie and Jennifer (David) Hoffman. Donna loved her six grandchildren, Morgan Spencer, Gavin Spencer, Candace (Casey) Grennie Weir, Zach Grennie, Bryce Hoffman and Chase Hoffman.

Donna was born in Alton, IL, October 8, 1937. She grew up in Godfrey IL, moving to Springfield, IL in 1966 where she resided for 38 years. She then moved to Laguna Woods, CA for 16 years, recently moving back to Illinois.

She was a graduate of Alton High School and Miss Hickey’s School of Business (Hickey College).

She was employed by the Muny Opera of St. Louis in their business office before becoming a full-time homemaker to her four children.

Donna was a member of the Optimissus Club in Springfield, IL. She was a member of King’s Daughter Chapter, Mary Laurence Circle also in Springfield. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, Springfield, IL. And at the time of her passing she was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, Laguna Niguel, CA. as well as The First Church of Christ Scientist, Boston, MA.

She was a devoted parent volunteer during the years her children were in public school. She also volunteered at The Presbyterian Home and Kumler Outreach Ministries where she tutored in an after school program and lent support to their food pantry.

She loved sports, primarily baseball (St. Louis Cardinals), church work, baking, gardening, gym workouts and spending time with her family and friends.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
