Charles (“Chuck”) Scheltens, 80, of Lake Villa, IL passed away on August 29, 2022.

Chuck was born in March of 1942 in Chicago, he was the oldest son of Viola and Hybo. Chuck and his younger brother shared a lifelong friendship with their “Keating Ave” boyhood pals. He was a math teacher for over 30 years with the Chicago Public Schools. Chuck enjoyed his retirement by expanding his “Train” hobby. He and his spouse (Ruth) lived in their lifelong home for 47 years in Round Lake Beach and had five children together. He loved watching the Chicago sports teams all year long; and of course his favorite baseball team the Chicago Cubs. Chuck enjoyed the simple things in life; watching classic TV shows, listening to all his favorite music from the 60’s & 70’s, and napping whenever he wanted. This year he reflected on being able to enjoy his family but also how he missed his “best girl” Ruth who passed away earlier this year.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife Ruth.

Charles is survived by his 5 loving children; Andrew (Jessica), Phillip (Lola), Matthew (Mindy), Amanda (Travis) Foy and Bethany (Matt) Loiacano, and his brother Neal, 18 grandchildren.
