Carol Hilda Campos (née Dettloff), 85, of McHenry, IL left this earthly world on, June 5, 2021. The daughter of the late George and Hilda Dettloff; she was born on December 1, 1935, in Chicago Illinois.

On June 12, 1954, she married Robert Campos. With a great deal of pride, they welcomed three little girls: Pamela in 1955, Robin in 1957, and Valerie in 1960. In the early years of her marriage, she was remarkably busy, being a devoted wife and mother, deriving much joy and pleasure caring for her growing little family. Then in 1973 the family relocated to Mt Prospect IL.

In 1975 she re-entered the workforce, when she joined the Venture team. She moved quickly up the ranks and retired in 1997 as an assistant store manager. In 1998 she and her husband of 44 years retired to sunny, Las Cruces, New Mexico.

2005 brought another change, when she and her husband returned from Las Cruces, wanting to be closer to their family. They settled in McHenry, IL where she was able to enjoy many happy years with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Robert (Bob) Campos of McHenry IL, along with three daughter’s: Pamela McKeown of Harvard IL, Robin (Timothy) Kohl of West Dundee IL, and Valerie Minor of McHenry IL; six grandchildren: Robert (Regina) McKeown of Elmhurst IL, Victoria McKeown of Des Plaines IL, Stephanie Kohl of Poplar Grove IL, Christopher (Cassie) Kohl of McHenry IL, Alex (Marisa) Kohl of Lake in the Hills IL, and Lucas Kohl of West Dundee IL, eleven great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Elizabeth, Piper, Mina, Duncan, Ian, Brantley, Colton, Penelope, Allen, and Briar, a brother George R Dettloff of Chicago IL, one special friend Mary Ann Karr of Crystal Lake IL, and her treasured poodle Sabastian. Loved by many, she also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. She is proceeded in death by her parents George & Hilda Dettloff, and her sister Patricia Dolan.

At Carol’s request there will be no wake or funeral service, her life will be celebrated privately with her immediate family. Arrangements entrusted to Northern Illinois Funeral Services, Inc.
