Ruth Margaret Meyer passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5th, 2025, in Lindenhurst, Illinois, at the age of 95.
Ruth was born in Watseka, Illinois, in 1929, to the Reverend Richard Archer and Mrs. Ruth Archer. In her youth, Ruth
was an excellent student, cheerleader, twirler, and musician. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald
Meyer on September 19th, 1948. Together, they raised four loving children and lived in several Illinois communities
during their years together: Washington, Springfield, Elk Grove Village, Schaumburg, Huntley, and Wayne.
Ruth dedicated many years to clerical and secretarial positions and had a deep passion for singing. She was a
cherished long-time member of the Prince of Peace United Methodist Church where she actively participated in
the church choir and other community choirs as well.
Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Karen (Ted) Huiatt of Ames, IA, Kathi (Larry) Clinton of
Wayne, IL, Kent (Linda) Meyer of Orlando, FL, and Kris (Ken) Gipple, of Lake Villa, IL; her seven grandchildren:
Courtney (Jeremy) Cswercko, Travis (Erin) Huiatt, John Meyer, Christopher Meyer, Brianne Delisi, Evan (Becky)
Delisi, Lauren Delisi; and three great-grandchildren: Seth Cswercko, Montgomery Huiatt, and Amelia Huiatt.
A Memorial Service and reception to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held on Saturday, June 7th at 2:00 pm at the Prince
of Peace United Methodist Church, 1400 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village, IL, 60007.
